How Much Does Professional Copywriting Cost?

It’s a question I often get asked. And my answer is always the same. If you hire a writer who doesn’t know how to sell – plenty!

But if you hire a copywriter who has a proven track record for generating sales leads and you know how to close sales, copywriting doesn’t cost you anything.

It’s a one-time investment that will put money in your jeans over and over again.

The real question is: How much is professional copywriting worth?

If it only takes 4-5 sales for you to cover your copywriting investment, how much is it costing you in missed opportunities by not having it? And we haven’t even factored in the lifetime value of a client or customer.

You pay once and enjoy the benefits for a long time. Pretty smart move.

Copywriting that produces sales leads is self-liquidating.

One of my clients had a 44% increase in website conversion based on web copy I wrote. Another saw their sales leads go from a daily trickle to 10-15 a day. Still another sent out a sales letter I wrote that produced a return of 12.6% – the industry norm is between 1-5 %.

They’ve long forgotten what their initial investment was.

Professionally written online or offline copy leads your prospects through your selling process in a structured way and invites them to take the next step.

Maybe it’s a phone call. Or exchanging their email address for something of value like a free report or trial of your service or product.

So the next time you find yourself asking how much copywriting costs, just think about how much it could be worth.
